In addition to free basic listings (which are submitted
here), we also offer paid text ads which include a link to your Web site, description,
and optional logo.
When you promote your site by placing an ad in the Benzie Web
Directory, you are making your site:
- much more visible to the Directory's nearly 18,000 "targeted"
annual visitors.
- being seen immediately by those coming to the ad's specific category,
ahead of the main list of that category's sites.
Having a link in the Directory also increases your ranking
in the Web's many search engines.
Ads run for a full year and cost only $45 per ad. That's less than $1/week.

- Ads cost $45 per
ad per year
Placement
- Ads can be placed
in any category.
- Only one ad is
allowed per customer per category, unless more that one Web site in that category
is owned by the customer.
- Ads can only be
for Web sites allowed and listed in that category.
More About Ads
- Ads are a sold
on first come / first served basis.
- Space is limited
to 3 ads per category or sub-category.
- If no space in
available, write to be put on waiting list for when space is available (assuming
current customers do not renew).
- We have the final
say on if an Web site or ad is allowed in the directory or in a specific category.
- As noted on the home page, this
site is not a list of all businesses, organizations, etc. in the Benzie County area.
It's a directory of all entities in or nearby the area that have a Web site. A basic
listing in the directory is free.

- There are two
ways to pay, 1) by check, or 2) online using the safe and secure PayPal
shopping system.

Content
SAMPLE ADS
- Text ad only (without optional
logo): 170 characters maximum
- Text ad WITH optional logo: 150
characters maximum
- Characters include ANY and ALL
characters, including punctuation and spaces.
- The number of characters includes
the title of your Web link.
- Ad content is simply: Title
of Web Link
- Desired description.
- Be sure to include the Web address
(URL) to which the title should link.
- Both your logo and "Title
of Web Link" will link to the Web address your provide, and it will open in
a separate page.
- Accommodation ads must include
the town involved, and we recommend including your town for any ad.
- Ads are expected to take no more
that 3 lines of text with a normal text size selected. In some cases they may be
more or less that 3 full lines. Nonetheless, all ads are fixed maximum number of
characters.
- Each ad will be
numbered (such as 07n07a) for our reference. This number is not included in the number
of characters.
- The text and logo
of your ad are fixed for the duration of the year, so please create description/logo
appropriate for a full year.
- The full message to your customers
will be on your Web site. So use the text of your ad with us to draw them to your
site.
- The optional logo must be no larger
than 56 pixels wide x 42 pixels tall, must be in GIF or JPG format, and no larger
than 10 kB in file size. A
logo cannot be added or removed after the ad is place.
Ads in Place
- Ads will be put
in placed within a few days after payment has been received and clears.
- You will receive
email from us confirming payment received and the ad is in place.
- You are responsible
for checking for the correctness of your ad, and notifying us within 3 days
if any changes are needed.
- We are not responsible
for the correctness of any ad.
- The text and logo
of your ad are fixed for the duration of the year. Only extreme circumstances (such
as new Web site address) will allow you to change your ad during the year.
Renewal
- You are responsible
for monitoring the date your ad was placed and renewing the ad within sufficient
time before 1 year (365 days) is up.
- If the you do
not renew before the year is up, your space may be sold to a new customer or your
ad removed (once the year is up for your ad).
Removal of Old
Ads
- 54 weeks or later
from when an ad was placed, unrenewed ads will be removed.
Early Removal
- Ads can be requested
to be removed by you at anytime. Refunds will ONLY be given within two weeks after
the ad was placed, and only for sufficient reason (such as going out business – not
just because you were having a sale).
- Ads are guaranteed
to be in place for one full year, unless unforeseen circumstances occur, in which
case you may be due a refund in full or in part.
